Located in the former residence of the Commanders of the Navy, the Hôtel de Cheusses, prior to the creation of the Naval Dockyard was one of the two oldest buildings in Rochefort. Guided tour of Fort Enet in Fouras-les-Bains

It takes about 2 hours to visit Fort Enet, which was built in the 19th century to help protect the Bay of the Aix Island and was finally converted into a prison. It is advisable to wear appropriate shoes or boots. Guided tour :Surrounded by water at high tide, you reach the Fort Enet by a pass (1.6 km) which is uncovered at low tide. Inside the fort you will discover the "soldiers' room", the communal cells, the shooting platforms, the ammunition bunker, the casemates, ...
